Personally
Jan 27th
I don’t think I have written anything personal on here for awhile.
One thing I will note is I have been fixing my blog. Some of the pics were hosted on the blog before I started this one. I guess the importer didn’t do a very good job. So some pics didn’t work at all and I want them all hosted in one place. So I have been working on putting all my pics the way I want them, not the way the importer placed them. If you have visited any old pages that would explain the missing pics. I am doing as many as I can over the weekends and hope to finish soon.

The Good
- My house is warm.
- I have food.
- My kids are awesome!
- I have a job.
- The co-worker friend and I made up at our work party. I approached her about the issue and all she told me was someone told her I was talking about her. She couldn’t recall what was said. It felt like high school. I have no idea what I did wrong, and it’s very likely it was made up to get us mad at each other, but I don’t know. I am a pretty upfront person and I told her that if she ever has an issue to just ask me, shit I will tell her. Although we talk at work, things are not the same. I miss hanging out with her, but I am glad that we can at least talk at work and not avoid each other anymore.
- My sister is taking me grocery shopping while the bad is happening. I am lucky to have a sister that I can count on! Thank you!!!!!!

The Bad
- My husband got laid off, which meant they took his work truck and his cell phone.
- He didn’t apply for unemployment for almost two weeks after the fact.
- He has been hiding in his man cave in his basement depressed. He is blaming the medication he has to take for seizures. Him hiding in his man cave is nothing new.
- My youngest hasn’t been able to attend gymnastics, that is already paid for, because I have no one to take her and pick her up.
- He needs to make another doctor appointment to get the doc to sign off on the papers for him to drive, but keeps putting it off.
- We are arguing alot. I keep reminding him of things he needs to do (like unemployment and doc appts) and he is getting more and more aggravated with me about that. Forget that aside from the first few days he hasn’t cooked dinner or done anything in the house. I work all day, take 2 buses home, cook dinner and try to clean up. When we both work I still did most everything in the house. He gets laid off and I still do most everything in the house. It doesn’t seem fair.
- This category could turn ugly soon.
Here is to hoping that winter goes away and 2011 becomes a better year somehow. I know I have had enough drama.
Things Happen
Oct 8th
Sometimes things just happen. In reality I wouldn’t ever want to be on a reality tv show and have my life taped however I do think some of the people I know need 24 hour surveillance just so I can remember details and laugh about it later. Husband is a prime example of someone I want surveillance on. Not because I worry about where he goes, no he just has the funniest shit to say and I can’t ever remember it when I want to.

This is what happens when you do bad things. The swat team wakes you and everyone else up at 6:30 AM and carts your ass off to jail.
-
This is what happens when you screw with my dog. The teeth are out! Kitty your messing with the wrong dog cause if she doesn’t whoop your ass I will.
-
This is what happens when you pause the TV and we try to guess what the next word out of the characters mouth will be. Son starts drinking his pop, mom says “boob”, son gets his picture taken.
Have a great weekend!
A Beary Good Time
Oct 5th
I have avoided this day for many years. A trip to Build A Bear. My daughter has hinted many times over the years she wanted to go. My opinion was always that they were over priced bears that you treat like humans by dressing them up. While that still holds true the sparkle in a kids eyes is worth the over priced stuffed animals they sell. You know that look. When walking into that place it’s as if they are shopping for a best friend. It’s the same sparkle I get when I walk into my favorite clothing store.
—————————–
The one wall is lined with many different bears and other animals to choose from. They range them from cheapest to most expensive. I appreciate that to make it easier to tell my kid how far they can go. Once they pick the bear out you take it to get stuffed. The nice lady instructed her to pick a heart. A tiny, soft, red, 5 freaking dollar heart. How do you tell your kid that the animal they picked out can’t have a heart for crying out loud? They tell them to touch their head with it to make it smart, touch their ear so it listens and many other things. Like I said they are picking out a new best friend.
Oh and let’s not forget the Find A Bear program. They put a code inside the bear before sewing it up. If it gets lost and some kind soul returns it to build a bear they will contact you. I wonder how successful they are with that program.
—————————–
Then you go on to picking out clothing and dress your new best friend. They have dressing areas just for this task.
They have many different types of clothing you can dress your new best friend in. Penguins hockey gear, halloween outfits, clothing from Justice, among many others. Lucky for me my daughter choose a Justice outfit that was on sale, but insisted on adding a pair of shoes for almost the same price as the clothing. I could have bought her a pair of shoes for that price!
Your gonna love this one cause I sure did. They have underwear for your stuffed best friend. That’s right underwear. Pretty girly undies and manly boxers! Yeah, not happening.
—————————–
If that wasn’t enough you get to take your friend to the wash station and give it a bath. It’s so cruddy from being dragged all over the store so why not.
—————————–
The last step is creating a birth certificate and giving it a name. You will get an email to access an online world to play with your new friend.
They make it easy enough for a kid to do and I do love the keyboards. I want one.
—————————–
Then I get to pay for the sucker, ooops, new best stuffed friend. My total for my daughters bear came to $36.85 with a donation to something or other they asked me to donate to. I actually expected it to be higher so I am happy and my daughter and her cousins have a new best friend.
—————————–
So while I still think they are overpriced I actually had a good time as did the kids. All the employees were very nice and helpful.
My favorite part of the day, besides how happy they all were, was the name my nephew gave his bear.
You read that right. His monkey is named Funky Butt. He is awesome!
Creative Kids
Jun 29th
I’ve never been that mom who cared if their room was clean, if all the dishes were done, etc. I spent alot of time with my kids as they grew up. We played with play dough in the dining room. Sometimes it got smashed into the carpet. We drew with chalk in the backyard. My kids played with boxes and made them into homes. I encouraged them to make a mess.

We have always believed in fostering creativity in our kids. I suppose because hubby and I are both creative types. I used to sing and love to make stuff. Hubby plays guitar and draws very well.

We allow the creativity to follow them into their wardrobe and hair. As long as it’s not hurting them or anyone else it’s a go. They can be free to be themselves. Not everyone likes it nor understands it. I have received many judgmental comments especially from family. My kids are happy and that is all that matters. I don’t force anything on them. They talk to me and tell me most everything and for that I am a happy mom.

I’ve shared a video of my daughter playing sax and a poem my son wrote.
Now I will share some art work they have done.

Autumn also loves to take photographs. Right now she is hoping we can find her a professional camera at a price we can afford. You can look at her work on DeviantArt.

Jeremy likes to take photographs too, however online he makes comics on Pixton, videos on YouTube and I believe this is a writing project by himself and a friend.

Alison is too young for me to allow to do anything online yet.
