Idol Afterthoughts – Girls Week2
Mar 4th
Crystal bowersox - love her. Love her hair! How did she get it like that? Simon you finally get it.
Haeley Vaughn - your cute and I’m sorry but the lisp just doesn’t work for me at all in a singer. Yeah yell all you want people but I wanna see who really will buy a cd from her and actually listen to it over and over. They will root for her cause they feel for her.
Back in the playing field Lacey Brown? Did the girls miss all the major pitch issues???? I like her but yeah needs work.
I guess I’m gonna have more comments on the girls cause I’m typing as I watch lol DVR mind you so no commercials yay
Katie Stevens - not bad tho a tad karioki and not too exciting. Quit telling her to sing young I mean if you want them to sing particular songs then just frigging pick them for them.
Didi Benami - great voice. Song started out ok and rest wasn’t bad but not what I expected to hear from her. Too low.
Michelle Delamore - I’m sorry I don’t like what she did to this song by Creed. Just….. No. And some judges must not have listened well. What the hell.
What happened to the talent the top 24 is supposed to have?I don’t remember them needing so much help in past years. And I don’t think the judges are consistent. Some people don’t change a song up enough some too much. Some sing too old some it’s ok if they do.
Lilly Scott - I like her voice but the song just did nothing for me tonight. The judges loved it though, so I guess I’m just crazy.
Katelyn Epperly - little pitchy but ok. I like what she did with the song. Ellen proved she doesn’t listen with her guitar comment. And now they can’t sing slow songs?
Paige Miles - she didn’t make it her own at all but watch the judges will love her. Ellen get the earplugs out of your ears. The guys make sense and the girls I was right about. Paige who?
Siobhan Magnus - I didn’t see that kinda voice coming out of her with that type of song. I like her. Randy said it, “It was dope”.
So that’s it for tonight. It’s in Americas hands now. We shall see…….

Jermaine Sellers – horrible song choice and no u didn’t say u rock a onsie really? Gross.
Tim Urban – wow needs work but so much better. I was pretty shocked. Heck I was just as shocked as he looked when he didn’t get voted off last week.
Lee Dewyze – just awesome is all I can say. I’m pulling for him big time!
Andrew Garcia – while it’s gotta be hard to out do straight up from hollywood I think it’s a shame they are gonna keep comparing him to it making it seem like everything else is crap now. It’s not I love his voice.
I left many people out but that doesn’t mean they sucked it just means they didn’t stand out to me. Afterall it’s my blog

The Bachelor
Mar 2nd
I admit it, I am a Reality TV Junkie. I watch Survivor, American Idol, Pawn Stars, Americas Next Top Model, and many others that I usually may just catch on On Demand. I watched the rediculous Rock Of Love and oh how could I forget the Bad Girls Club. They all are different in their own way but I really think I love other people’s drama. Makes me feel better about myself. So why did I get entangled in The Bachelor? Really it’s just not my type of show to watch. Rock of Love was thrown in there just to watch them make assholes out of themselves and party. It was just one big funny party and I didn’t take any of them very seriously. The Bachelor (if not staged cause really I don’t know) goes on emotion, falling in love. But I feel that it’s just wrong on so many levels to date all those people at the same time. I watched a couple eposides of The Bachelor one day when I was home from work and damnit I was hooked. This Jake guy was dreamy. He was nice, sincere, sweet and romantic. What woman wouldn’t fall in love with him. I wanted him, damn you. He seemed to sincere when he let girls go without a rose ceremony to be fair to them. I’m thinking wow nice guy not just keeping a women hanging and toying with her. This is a real stand up guy. However after watching the final episode last night and seeing his choice I just wanted to kick him in the nuts through the TV. His choice, his life, why should I care….. It’s sad. He had feelings for the other girl, everyone could see it. How could you miss him running toward her and jumping to grab her at the begining of their last date? He did the typical guy thing and choose with his dick and not his heart. Physical Chemistry is great but in life and love it’s not gonna make you happy in a lifelong marriage. It spices it up, but it doesn’t define it. She didn’t have the complete marriage material package from what we saw on tv. I hope he watched the show. Back to work………. and remind me not to watch that kinda crap anymore LOL
Hmmmm Vacation……….
Feb 23rd
Ok let’s start with Hilton Head Island. This is where I wanted to take my friends and I don’t think that is happening. I do love it there, its simple and beautiful. I know where everything is and I can relax here.
Here you have Las Vegas. I was invited to go here by a friend in June. I’m thinking beautiful lights, Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill, the desert, and maybe some sin
Hey it is sin city. Expensive I am sure.
Then we have Santa Monica, CA. I have always wanted to visit CA. Yes I want to see Hollywood and LA. I don’t much care about actual stars, although it would be nice to see some. I just want to see the place. Expensive but if I wanna go eventually.
Or how about Virgina Beach. It’s closer and probably would be much cheaper. I’ve been there before but not when it was warm and only for a day.
Anyone see a pattern? Yeah, I wanna go to the beach so bad. If I could move near one I would in a heart beat. But I will settle for a week a year. Back to brainstorming what I can afford, where to go and who to go with.
Pittsburgh Living – Elsewhere Visiting
Jan 13th
Pittsburgh is an interesting city to live in. However one (me) grows tired of the city. Other than a year spent living elsewhere I have lived here since I was born.
I have traveled a little…..
As a child I have been to Ft. Myers, FL as I have family there and Emerald Isle, NC for a family vacation one year when I was in high school. Florida I was probably 7 the first time and 12 the second time. I spent alot of time with my dad while there and went to Disney the first trip. I remember going to the beach too. I remember waking up in the morning to an alagator in my dads front yard. They even named him. Emerald Isle we stayed in a hotel on the ocean. It was a crappy hotel from what I remember but we didn’t spend that much time in it. There was a place with a waterslide within walking distance. I walked, with my sister, down to the pier one night. I remember by the time we went to walk back the tide was all the way up to the wall so we had to walk back in the water.
When Chris was in the military I went to Missouri for his Basic Training Graduation. I didn’t visit much of anything but the highway and the military base tho. AIT Training he was in Virginia and I spent many weekends down there visiting. We did venture out a bit while there to Virginia Beach and the strip in Newport mostly to get food. We spent most of our time in if you know what I mean
Then he was stationed in Savannah, GA. Leaving that place was probably my biggest mistake. It was beautiful there. I can remember it being February and laughing at how everyone was bundled up and there I was in jeans and a tshirt. I actually thought it was warm. The moss hanging from the tree’s was very neat. We did go to the beach as often as we could at Tybee Island. I remember taking Autumn there when she was only 5 days old. It was a pretty dead beach back then.
My sister used to live in Milwalkee Wisconson and I visited her there twice. We went to the State Fair which was way overpriced and most of my memories of that day consist of seeing many foods made with cheese. We also went to the beach there, though the beach is river beach. One time we went there was seaweed all along the shore in the water. And my neice ate a bit of sand. There was this beautiful walkway to get there though, all wooden bridges and through the woods.
Then there was Ohio. Chris’s friend had his wedding in Ohio. What can I say about Ohio? Hmmmmmmmm
Last stop….. Hilton Head Island, SC. We went there 2 summers ago for the first time and again last summer. Have you ever been somewhere and never wanted to leave? I don’t mean the “I’m on vacation and I don’t wanna go home” type of leave I mean if you could just pack up and move there and never go back leave. Thats how it is there for me. I would pack up in a heartbeat and live there. There is just something special about it. I think about it often so I am sure reading my blogs over time you will see what I mean.
Back to Pittsburgh. I was born here, raised here and am raising my kids here. What is so special about it? It’s comfortable, it’s easy, it’s where I know, it’s where my kids know, it’s where at least one of my kids wants to stay. My husband doesn’t want to leave either so that has made it rather difficult for me to convince him of what I want. Most of my favorite memories are of days in the South. Days of warm weather, flat land, the smell of the ocean, the beautiful sky. Oh yeah, Pittsburgh…………
It does have it’s pluses. Mine I suppose would be:
- Food – we have some great food here. Many choices when it comes to eating out on types of food too. I still haven’t eaten everywhere I’ve wanted to.
- Kennywood – who wouldn’t like a theme park within a 15 min drive? I have gone there every year since I was a kid.
- Family – I have lots of family here. Though I don’t see most of them very often. I am closest with one of my sisters.
- Outdoors – We have some beautiful state parks and I do enjoy kayaking. I wish I went more often.
My major minus’s:
- Cold - I hate the cold. Period. Our summers don’t even get as warm as they used to.
- Hills – It is full of hills here blocking my view, making it difficult to wanna walk or bike anywhere. Maybe I’m just lazy but I hate it. Add snow and well I just don’t wanna leave my house.
- People – I don’t think all people are bad, but of all places I have been we do have some of the most ignorant people here. Probably why I hate most people in general.
- Jobs – jobs here suck. No one wants to pay what your worth, and there aren’t many good jobs here (above minimum wage). I hope my kids grow up and get the hell out of here.
- View – other than the view of the city from certain places really this is a dirty, ugly city.
I’m sure I could think of a few more pro’s and con’s. But really those are the ones that I think weigh the most. I will continue to dream of a better life and hope that someday my dream will come true.
Snow in Pittsburgh
Jan 7th
So it’s winter. It comes every year. Most of us hate it, me included. Let’s put aside that when looking at it from a window it can be pretty, and it’s fun to sled or ski on.
What is it with people who have lived somewhere their entire lives seem to forget how to fucking drive when snow falls. Like its the first time they have ever seen snow. It’s similar to when I lived in Georgia, they get hurricans every year and rain hello! But when it rains people pull over or just sit there in the damn street like they forgot how to drive all of a sudden. Really is that necessary? Don’t leave your fucking house then. I’m as cautious as they come I hate getting into a car, its a slight phobia thing of mine. But if you can’t drive don’t leave your damn house. Between needing to take my daughter to the doctor directly after work yesterday and my needing to get to the doctor this morning and get my ass to work (late) I seem to be behind every jackass that shouldn’t be on the road.
My favorite part about snow here is how the city handles it. I remember reading an article a year or so ago about residents being required to shovel within 24 hours. Pissed me off. When they start salting and scraping our streets within 24 hours maybe I will give a shit. I found some info on the citys website about all this……..
Snow should not be shoveled or moved onto the roadway. When residents throw their snow onto an already plowed street, additional plowing is necessary and this takes away resources from the streets that have not been serviced.
You would think telling people this wasn’t necessary but quiet honestly alot of people here are just rude and don’t give a good shit.
In heavy snows, parking spaces should be sacrificed to pile snow. These efforts allow passage of emergency vehicles and other vehicular traffic.
Ok I understand the need for emergency vehicles to be able to get through places but you really could go a week or a year without an emergency vehicle going down your street unless your on a major roadway. So I ask where the hell would you like me to put my car then up your ass?
During a Snow Emergency all road crews work around the clock to clear the roadways as soon as possible. They follow a standard routing system to clear the major roadways first.
Standard routing system. They might as well say if you live in the ghetto you better just stay inside cause we don’t care. Drive around the city and look at the worst neighborhoods, the ones neglected the most, the ghetto ones. I’m lucky to ever get my street salted let alone plowed.
Requests for special plowing/salting can be made for emergency situations.
So does getting to work or be fired consist of an emergency? Cause if I’m out of a job I can’t pay my bills. I might loose my heat and freeze to death or loose my house.
I swear I should just get my kids some ski’s to get to their bus stops.
And these people who save their spots with chairs and shit need shot. You don’t own the fucking spot no matter how much you think you do. [Yeah I had to take that out because for the first time in all my adult years I felt the need to put out a famous "Pittsburgh Chair", don't shoot me LOL] On my street we have a general consensus not to take someone else’s spot. I’m lucky my neighbors aren’t all that bad
But you should check out some other streets around here that save spots it kills me. I will have to take pictures when I see some
So here is my first ever “Pittsburgh Chair”. I am one of hundreds from around the city after we got over 2 ft of snow in 2 days. When you shovel that much snow you really gotta take the spot. Some people feel they don’t have to shovel their sidewalks let alone their own parking spot, and yes I have a few neighbors that caused this problem.
