Tour Capa and Jazz Performance
May 20th
As if I don’t promote Capa enough. I want to give you a virtual tour through the school. I had the pleasure of going to an event that took place on many floors which enabled me to see more than the front door and theater. Mind you I seem to be missing some of my pics. Hmmmm……..
On to the Capa Tour
One of the many Dance Studios, The Black Box, The Cafeteria, The Ceramics Studio:
Hallways and Stairwells:
The Ceramic Bowls we made that night will be donated to the Empty Bowls Dinner. The flower pots we decorated were for a garden project for the students.
Jazz At Capa
Just last night I attended a Capa Jazz Concert. My daughter plays Sax. I was looking through the awards case and saw an award from a year I attended Capa and it was the year a friend of mine was in a group that earned the Grand Prize in a contest for an OJ commercial they created.
I ran into Mr. Humphries whom I knew looked familiar and the name sounded familiar as well.
I finally got up the nerve to ask him if he ever taught at Capa. He said he had for 29 years. Click his name to go to his website. Also he is doing a Jazz River Cruise on June 6th. Proceeds help benefit the Roger Humphries Sr. Music Scholarship Fund. Click the Cruise for ticket info. Speaking of that fund I won the 50/50 raffle at the school event last night which goes towards the fund. I donated the money back to the fund. As much as I need it being laid off thats how much more I believe in Arts Education.
My daughter’s Sax Solo: (sorry the quality isn’t great I used my cell phone as I forgot my camera)
You Know You Do
May 20th
Have you ever creeped on people online? Come on you know you have. You know go to peoples facebook, myspace, (that aren’t on your friends list) whatever you find about them cause they leave everything out there and not set privacy settings. My Facebook is like a prison. It has photo’s of my children, places were going among other things. Therefore I don’t friend anyone I actually don’t know in real life. I just hope those of you I went to high school with and haven’t talked to in almost 20 years didn’t turn out to be phsyco’s tho LOL
There is a website where you can have your privacy settings analyzed on facebook if for some reason you don’t understand them. Go to ReclaimPrivacy and read the directions on how to do it.
My results only show one issue and it’s not one I will fix. To be able to find me by my email address.
If I fix it then people won’t be able to find me and I am sorry the whole point of facebook is to socially network. If you don’t share anything with anyone ever you might as well be invisible and not use it at all. There is so much talk going on about facebook privacy in a negative way. People please read when they make privacy changes and decide what you want to share. It’s really that easy.
Those of you who use Facebook to play games and wanna be friends with every Tom, Dick and Harry that plays just to level up better learn how to set your privacy settings. You can block these people from reading your status’s, seeing your wall, your personal info, etc.
When you see the area’s that have “Friends Only;Except” You can click on custom and set it so that only your friends can read except certain people. You can even create lists to add to the exceptions such as a list for Games and list people only on your friends list to play games.
Which brings me to blogs and the initial point of this post………
So I creeped on someone last week. This persons MySpace was open for everyone to see including a blog. Nothing wrong with that just an observation. But in reading the blog I realized that I was reading personal information about other people that, I’m sorry the world didn’t need to know. As an outsider it made me think about things I blog about. I felt sorry for the person I was reading about in this other blog. I was reading details that are none of any ones business type stuff. The blogger also seemed very judgemental and angry in many blogs over the course of a couple years. It just made me realize what type of blogger I don’t want to be.
Now I utilize my blog to bitch and I have some opinions but I don’t think my blog goes to that over the top level. If it does someone please tell me. I did notice that people’s blogs on MySpace, myself included in the past, tend to be personal and not always nice. But I think if your gonna get that personal it should be kept private and not open. That is what stopped me from pulling all my MySpace blogs to archive from the past.
I think in the future I will try very hard not to be that blogger that vents while naming names about other people. Especially people I know and talk to in real life. I can’t say it won’t happen but I will try not to make that my theme.

re the earrings that make your holes bigger. We had agreed on how big you can go as the bigger you go the more likely it won’t go back to normal. Unfortunately I have run into the first time my teenager is going against her parents’ wishes. Kids can’t buy tattoos or get piercings without an adult but they can buy these that destroy their ears.

I had a blog prepared on paper yesterday all about the Pens game the night before until I got a phone call that someone from my past had passed away. I wasn’t sure how to feel about it and really still am not. It is someone I dated before I met my husband. Someone I cared for alot at the time but haven’t seen since. I did attempt to contact him online but he never responded. I am not sure what his reasons were for not responding, we didn’t break up on bad terms. Maybe he was going through too much as apparently he knew he would be going and didn’t tell his family. I wasn’t sure if I should go to the funeral but in the end have decided to.
I also have plans to go to lunch with a friend today and attend an event at one of my kids schools tonight. Hopefully I will make it to the Pittsburgh Flea on Sunday. I don’t normally blog on weekends so maybe I will have the Pittsburgh Flea to blog about by Monday. I am just not in the right frame of mind to write anymore than this………….
